Stop-and-Frisk Lawsuit Against NYPD Goes Forward

A lawsuit challenging New York City's stop-and-frisk policy used by the NYPD will go forward. A federal appellate court denied the city's request to quash Floyd v. City of New York, a federal class action.

The trial is scheduled for March 2013.

The lawsuit is led by the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR), which calls stop-and-frisk unconstitutional racial profiling against racial minorities. A 2011 CCR study found that 41.6% of all of stop and frisks have been of Black or Latino young people. They only comprise 4.7% of the city's population.

TV Recap: "Key and Peele" Sketch Comedy By Self-Proclaimed 'black nerds'

Second City/ MADtv Alumni Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele started a sketch comedy show on Comedy Central called "Key and Peele."  We had our doubts, but they provide some funny social commentary.                                                                     This comedy duo throws political correctness out the window. Conservatives and liberals alike will find much to laugh at with these comedians. If your college sociology professor had played, clips of this show, maybe people would have participated in class discussions.  Key & Peele  "Must See" skits show how all Black people can trace back to Thomas Jefferson on Ancestry.com or a Weekly Address from President Obama, where Obama talks and a 'ghetto' Black man serves as an "anger translator."
Watch the clip above to see Black people pretending to 'ghetto speak' just to keep up a cultural charade. (Contains mild language). "Omg, I almost just got robbed."

Key says, "we find ourselves particularly adept at lying, because on a daily basis we have to adjust our blackness," and Peele adds, "You never want to be the whitest sounding black guy in a room."

Mayor Thinks Eating Tacos Will Help the Latino Community

Hours after four police officers were arrested for racially profiling and abusing Latinos residents, a reporter asked East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo

"What are you going to do for the Latino community today?" The Mayor flippantly responded, "I might have tacos when I go home, I'm not quite sure yet." Watch the interview below to see Mayor Maturo put both of his feet into his mouth.  [Now, I call that flexibility.]

Then, an immigrants' rights group delivered 2,000 tacos to the mayor. Now that his dinner has been delivered, perhaps he can truly address the problems of his city. Mayor Maturo apologized for his taco comment, and the 2,000 tacos were donated to a charity.
