Sex Scandals Never Seem to Help the Women Get Ahead. No pun intended.

General David Petraeus just announced his resignation after the FBI uncovered his affair with the woman who authored his biography, Paula Broadwell. Perhaps this will help her sell her book "All In:The Education of General Petraeus."

Then, Lockheed Martin fired its incoming CEO Friday after he admitted to an affair with one of his subordinates.

And of course, we will never forget Bill Clinton and his intern Monica Lewinsky.

But what happens to these women after the affairs end and the men go on to lead another equally as grand organization?

If they are like Monica, all they get is a lame handbag line and a busted Jenny Craig endorsement.

At least John Edward's mistress got a book deal after their affair ended his marriage and his presidential campaign.

These women are forever branded as "the mistress" and the public just seems to shake their heads and chuckle at the men as if to sigh, "Boys will be boys." But the problem is that these high powered figures are not boys; they are men. They are supposedly leaders, and we should demand more from them.

It's not okay that former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner sent pictures of his genitals over Twitter or that David Letterman had an affair with one of his interns. It seems as if these men start to feel invincible, and prey upon the nearest female subordinate. Good thing Jenny Craig and QVC are ready to offer the women a little change in exchange for their ruined careers.
