Michelle Obama: I'm No Angry Black Woman

Since Barack Obama popped into national headlines during his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in 2004, his right hand lady Michelle Obama has been branded an angry black woman, and she is not taking that moniker anymore.

In a recent CBS interview with Gayle King, Michelle Obama challenged the accusations that she is "some kind of angry black woman." The First Lady is responding to a book by NY Times columnist Jodi Kantor titled, "The Obamas." Kantor's tell-all book paints a picture of a tense White House where Michelle Obama terrorizes The Administration's top aides. "I guess it's more interesting to imagine this conflicted situation here and a strong woman and--you know? But that's been an image that people have tried to paint of me since the day Barack announced, that I'm some angry black woman," she tells King.
