Gender selection practices are a booming business in the United States, drawing clients from across the world. Fertility clinics in New York and LA charge $45,000 to couples who want to pick the gender of their soon to be conceived children. Dr. Jeffrey Steinberg of The Fertility Institutes reports because sex selection is illegal in many nations, affluent individuals flock to the United States for these legal fertility procedures.
98% of Chinese parents choose a male when given the option to select their baby's gender, and most Indian parents go with the male option as well.
Dr. Steinberg thought about letting parents choose eye and hair color as well, but he does not offer that option currently due to push back from pro-life organizations.
