Black Female Unemployment Rate Drops

The Department of Labor (DOL) is reporting that among adults over the age of twenty, African American females are the only demographic to show a decrease in unemployment rates during the month of September. The DOL report breaks its employment statistics into the following categories: White male, white female, black male, black female, and Asian.

The employment rate of black woman increased from 55.1% to 55.3%.

An additional 114,000 jobs were added to the economy in September, and nationwide unemployment rate decreased to 7.8%
